Calgary Alberta, home of the Calgary Stampede!

This yearly, 10 day event attracts over one million visitors per year and features one of the world’s largest rodeos, a parade, midway, stage shows, concerts, agricultural competitions, chuck wagon racing and First Nations exhibitions.

This was my first time having the opportunity to be so heavily involved with the Stampede. I was asked to attend 10 days of stampede events, and additional events prior. I don’t think I could have had any more fun. Hanging out with people from all over the world, fellow Stampede members, cooking breakfast and most importantly, meeting some awesome dogs.

I would have to say, It’s the best day ever when there is a
petting Zoo at events!

I was honoured to start my stampede week off at the MRCA annual stampede BBQ. What a lovely evening up in a gorgeous part of our city. As the Mount Royal community gathers, with live music, activities and good food, I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off Calgary’s stampede week. Along side my pageant sisters, Little Miss Calgary, Junior Miss Calgary and Miss Calgary, we had a blast!

I want to give a big thank you to everyone who worked so very hard, to put on these outstanding events prior, and of course the stampede Committee for hosting “The Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth.” I would like to thank my agency for pointing me in the right direction, and my family and friends for helping me along the way, on my Miss Teen Calgary journey.

Ye-Haaa!

The 29th annual Lilac Festival was a good one. As a kid, I have vivid memories of my family and I attending the festival, but for the first year, due too my tittle, ‘Miss Teen Calgary’, I was honoured with the opportunity to be apart of it. Riding down the street, roof top, in one of ‘Dream Ride Alberta’s’ Jeep’s, my reign really started to set in. Who knew parades were so much fun, and waving for that long, to random people taking pictures of you, really wasn’t all that awkward!

If you asked me a year ago if I considered myself a pageant girl, the answer would have been indifferent. But after that day, I am officially, more than proud to wear my crown with full confidence.

Thank you Lilac Festival 2018, Dream Ride Alberta, Patti Falconer Agencies, and of course my family, friends and everyone who came out to support. This really is a well put together, awesome event.

Within 24 hours of my crowning, “Miss Teen Calgary 2018,” one of my dearest sponsors, “Ferrari” invited me to the unveiling of one of their newest cars. Not only was I graced with the opportunity of being there, but was asked by the owner, Carlo Galasso, to say a few words in recognition of my reign.

Thank you so much Ferrari for your unconditional support and love. What a fun night, and an exceptional way of meeting some very special people!

With a heart full of  allegiance, joy and tremendous pride in my city, I am honoured to represent Calgary as “Miss Teenage Calgary 2018,” in my next journey, as I head to Toronto to compete for “Miss Teenage Canada 2018!”

There is quite a lot of stigma that follows pageants but I would like to clear that up. It’s not just about looking pretty, and getting pampered. Pageants are about intelligence, communication and dedication. But most importantly, they are about spreading love, joy and advocating to better our society, one step at a time.

I entered in honour of my Agent and friend, Patti Falconer, who passed away April 2018, a month before the pageant. Patti was an icon in the industry, one that will never be forgotten. She hosted pageants throughout Calgary for over 40 years, to give girls/ women a voice in their community. As her legacy lives on, I will hold onto my title with great gratification, working hard, and pushing myself everyday, to make her proud.

I want to work with and help People, by speaking with individuals, or presenting myself in front of crowds. My goal is to target everybody, not one specific group or organization. I believe everyone has the right to feel appreciated, and have their voice heard. It is easy to say, but not so easily practiced when you’re being pushed to the back of the line. I want to encourage and empower women, to love and respect not only themselves, but other women too. I want to encourage the LGBTQ community to except themselves and talk about their journey. I could go on and on about amazing groups of people, who have come to the forefront, and pushed through their dark pasts. I truly do respect and honour every story I hear about another break through, but what about the ‘quiet’ people? The ones who have never had a story written about them in the media, the ones who just get shuffled to the side.

I want to help people. Not just a specific group, but the ones fighting their own battles, beside the spotlight. I want to volunteer with not just kids, but all ages, our elders too. I am going to speak up for not just women, but men as well. I want to target every race, gender and sexuality. I want all people to embrace who they are, and come to the realization that they are no less important than anyone else. Everybody deserves a fair chance to speak up. There is no problem too big or too small. For every problem there is a solution and I am here to help you find it.

I want to be a motivational speaker, for everyone.

Monday night we had our sponsor party, it was so exciting because I got to meet representatives from each of the pageants sponsors. We have sponsors from everything from shoes, to tanning solutions, jewellery, watches and even dentistry (got keep those pearly whites clean). Once we walked in to the room there were tables filled with bags for us, it was kind of crazy to me to think these people were actually giving us things for this pageant. It was really encouraging to know that they supported us and believed in what we were doing. So as a huge thank you to our sponsor’s I’m going to tell all of you a little about each. First sponsor I would like to take the time to thank has graciously supplied all of us girls here at the pageant with brand new heels for the show! Nine west is out shoe sponsor and  the shoes are to die for and I can’t wait to wear them!(even if my feet die in the process) . The next sponsor is superadorbs, they are a adorable 😉 accsessory company that has everything from earrings to ears, necklaces to key chains and everything a teenage girl (or styling person who is no long in their teens) could ask for . I personally was gift a beautiful black chocker necklace the a silver hoop and little star studs. Next we have our dental sponsor Archer Dental, who gave us a tooth care – care package ( which was honestly a life saver because I had lost my toothbrush somewhere along the way between Calgary and Ontario….oops). Plus the dentist is actually really funny so you don’t have to worry about having to do that awkward fake laugh when he makes a joke, cause he’s in tour mouth and you don’t want to offend him . Another one of our fantastic sponsors is Golden Glamour Goddesses who specialize in eyelash extentions, spray tans ( mobile spray tans too which I did get and highly recommend) and other healthy skin care products. They spoiled us with Shea body butters and a  refreshing  scented soap. Finally but deffinetly not lastly we have our lovely sponsors over at Uptothetime  who gave all of us girls beautiful necklaces with a charm on each one, the cool part about that is some of the charms were different and the chains differed from rose gold, gold and silver. They are also supplying whoever wins the title of Miss Teenage Canada with a watch of her choosing! All these of these amazing people and so many more have helped me get this far and I am honored and so thankful to them. 2 years ago is when I first saw a post for this pageant and I never would have thought of be where I am today ! I honestly can say that I love these girls and the whole thing about pageant sisters is true, I know that I have made some life long friends from all over Canada. Also I would like to take the time to thank you, the person who is reading this. Without you I wouldn’t be where I am today, everyone who has supported me I am forever thankful for and I appreciate it so much, words can’t even describe.   The beautiful west nine shoes (that I’m not sure I can walk in yet 😂)

The watch I choose from Uptothetime that just happend to also match my dress

Modeling what it’s like to spray skin brighter on your legs

Archer Dental coming in clutch with the toothbrush I needed !
