The pageant has begun! WOW! What an incredible experience this has been these past 4 days. I’ve made memories that will last a lifetime, friends that I will keep in touch with for a very long time and an experience unlike no other.

Our first official event during the pageant was the sponsor/welcome party! As I walked out of the elevator, the sparkle and glimmer from all 54 tiaras was mesmerizing. You could tell all the young ladies like myself were ecstatic. We were running all around talking to each other like we’ve known everyone for years! What a wonderful connection we all have. We were greeted by various sponsors and representatives. Here are some pictures from that night ๐Ÿ™‚

Alberta Girls!

Nuvango is a intricate clothing company, that also specializes in gels! They work with artists designs and art pieces to have it printed on clothing pieces! This drew me in, instantly! The table was covered in colours and the choices were endless. I was able to grab myself a pair of leggings, which i fell in love with immediately! We were also lucky enough to get a tour around the Nuvango headquarters. What an eye opener it sure was for me. As you all should know by now, that I am in love with art. This was absolutely incredible! Thank you Nuvango.

Visit for any more info on the brand, and to get a better look at #nuvango

V.P.I Canada Limited

The next booth was V.P.I Canada, where we got to choose a pair of sunglasses that we loved! What a wonderful gift this was, as many of us did not remember to bring our own. I didn’t know there were so many styles and colours until i saw the table covered in them. It was such a hard decision on which one I wanted, but this is the one I chose and I couldn’t be more happy with my choice!

If you like my pair of glasses, be sure to check out their website! We could be twinning ๐Ÿ™‚

Sweets Canada

I have a sweet tooth, and this booth fulfilled my day with sweets! What a pleasure it was to taste the delicious chocolates. This unique brand has edible flowers in their chocolate! How cool is that? I could hardly wait to eat mine when I got back to the hotel! Be sure to try these out, you wont regret it!

Sweets Canada is also on Twitter, @SweetsCanadaCA and so is their parent company Q Foods Canada which tweets from @QFoodsCanada . Feel free to check them out and take a look at all the other delicious sweets they offer!

Bradlee Ryall Golf Academy

This beautiful green golfing community was a blast! I’ve never golfed before, and this was so much fun! I’ll definetly be doing more golfing activities. They taught us how to properly golf, and we got to try many different areas of golfing. If you’re curious about golfing and wonder where you could try it out, i highly recommend them!

Bata Shoe Museum

WOW! A dream come true! A museum all about shoes. This was every girls dream and it was amazing. We got to hold Shaq’s shoes, to the styles all throughout history. I think I can speak for all the delegates that this was worth the trip.

A shoe mold!

Hashtagio is a Social Media Aggregator and User Generated Marketing Platform. It was at the show collecting all our social media tagged with the #MissTeenageCanada2016 and then projecting it live at the party. They even made a single feed URL to which our parents and friends can subscribe to! All they do is follow along as we experience all the fun and exciting activities here in Toronto. The images and text from all 54 delegates will be archived on this page in the Miss Teenage Canada main site and on the Miss Teen Canada Blog Network / Search for Miss Teenage Canada 2016.

I want say thank you to all the wonderful sponsors this year. It wouldn’t be the same without your generous love and help! The delegates and I really appreciate it all!

I’m here today to talk about a more serious and touchy subject. I need you to think back on a hard time you encountered in your life. Where you were so sad, betrayed, lost, hurt etc that you felt like you had no purpose or motive in this world. Now that you’ve thought of at least one situation, compare it to how you are NOW. Does it blow your mind that in that state of mind, years or months ago you wanted to alter your life? Or the vulnerable words you played in your head driving you crazy that you wanted to disappear from this world so badly because of one situation, that doesn’t even affect you today? That being said, this is my platform as a delegate and goal in life, it’s ending the stigma surrounding mental illnesses that trigger suicides. I want to be someone who gives and helps a person another reason to live.

Did you know in 2012 approximately 4000 people ended their own life? Did you know that everyday in Alberta, more than 1 person will die as a result of a suicide? Did you know that there will be 5 attempted suicide/self-inflicted injury hospital admissions? And did you know that there will be 14 attempted suicide/self-inflicted injury emergency department visits? How does this personally make you feel, knowing that there are great people out there, who are ending their lives short? Don’t YOU feel helpless? Don’t you want to help end this stigma? This is why I am so intrigued in this topic. Not only that, but I have experienced this first hand. I’m fortunate to be healthy and alive today. Although I have days that are more grey than others, I continue to live my life because everything is temporary. I am lucky enough to be able to be a delegate in Miss Teenage Canada-World. This is my chance to voice my opinion and to help those in need.

I hope you follow my journey to ending this stigma, one person at a time.

Best regards,

Miss Teenage Calgary 2016.

For our second blog assignment, it’s all about our designing skills. I particularly love this idea because I am a creative person. If you read my introduction I stated that I quite literally breathe art. All my life I’ve drawn pictures as a way to escape from the real world, it’s very therapeutic to me. I especially love taking inspiration from other artists and making it my own. During a hard time in my life, I would sit for hours and just draw. (Fun fact, all of my drawings are hung on my bedroom wall!!) So I am very very excited and proud to announce my beautiful handmade design! ๐Ÿ™‚

Took me an hour and a half to perfect it ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve chosen to show the different forms of women, because no matter what height or size you are, it’s about who you are as a person. I wholeheartedly believe that all women are beautiful. Miss Teenage Canada also portrays the different sizes of girls in this pageant, so I figured it was a perfect way to showcase this.

The good people at Sign Source Solution are donating a roll-up banner to the Miss Teenage Canada organization. This business specializes in making signs and event signage. They are located in Toronto and whats even more amazing is that someone from the company will be there on July 24th, the night of the Miss Teenage Canada show, to pose with the winning design and designer!! I have my fingers crossed, do you?

Cant wait to see the winning roll-up banner, stay tuned!

WAIT! Did you mean Prince’s or Princess???

The often incorrectly pronounced park known as Prince’s Island Park was named after Peter Anthony Prince, the founder of Eau Claire Lumber Mill. (Which is also another amazing location to visit!) The park was built on land, donated to the city by the Prince family. (How cool is that? It’s like were literally stepping on royalty!!) The island is 20 hectares and is linked by 3 bridges to Eau Claire, downtown Calgary, and to the community of Crescent Heights.

1/3 bridges in Prince’s Island Park.

It is also part of the pathway and hiking trail system lining both sides of the Bow River. You will often see people rafting in the river, enjoying the views of the park. One of the important and cute attractions in Prince’s Island Park are the Canadian geese and mallard ducks. I’ve gone personally a few times to feed the birds, and I must say, once they see you handing out food, you better be prepared for all of them to come rushing in towards you!!

The Canadian geese and mallard ducks sure know how to win peoples hearts.

You may think, well what’s so great about a park? But if you’re an adventurous and nature-loving human like myself, you’ll take it like it’s a fresh breath of air. Around the beautiful bright green and colorful park holds a cafe, live musicians, ice cream trucks, picnic areas ( in which you see the happily married couple, or the joyful young family running around with the sun gleaming on their happy faces), flower gardens, water fountains, a playground for the children, view of downtown, and the eye pleasing sunset that hits the scenery in patterns and colours you could not even imagine.

Prince’s Island Park is also friendly to dogs, so if you’re an animal lover like me, prepare yourself for the many “aw’s”, “oh my gosh there’s a dog!”, “that dog is so cute!” during your walks.

Another great thing the park has to offer is during the winters, you can go cross country skiing and outdoor skating!! This park is starting to sound like a dream vacation! (hahaha) The best thing about this is that if you live in Calgary, it’s just minutes away from your location ๐Ÿ™‚

So come explore this beautiful, majestic, aesthetically pleasing land and all it has to offer! I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it just as much or even more than me ๐Ÿ™‚

Goodbye for now,

Hello beautiful people! I guess it’s been a fair amount of time since I’ve chatted with everyone. You’re probably all wondering what I have been up to. Well I’ve got some answers. ๐Ÿ™‚

I participated in a lovely parade in Calgary called the Lilac Festival. I was lucky enough to ride in a BMW Convertible alone and hand out candy to all the children. I learned after an hour of smiling that it does in fact hurt your cheeks!! I was able to talk to many open minded children about how I became a princess and how they can too! I was welcomed with open arms and was greeted by many.

On Fathers Day, I drove to Nanton, AB to attend Cakes for Dad. A fundraiser my friend Jade (Miss Teenage South Western Alberta 2016) held. Where people brought in cakes they created and we got to judge it on the appearance. Jade and I were accompanied by the Mayor of Nanton and one of her teachers. The events profits are going to Fort Mac to keep Alberta Strong! The Winner of the cake was awarded with a picture with the judges in the newspaper!

I’m also currently in the midst of planning a few special events! (check back for updates)

As Nationals is approaching soon, just in 3 weeks!! I’ve been preparing myself mentally and physically. (also check back on what my platform is ;))

I’ve endured hikes to expand my mind and to also keep in shape. I’ve taken adventures into the mountains to free my mind and to enjoy what mother nature has to offer. I’ve been pushing myself to go to the gym everyday and to eat healthier and to live a happier life (I’m really seeing results!!!). I’ve fought some fears like jumping off a bridge into the river, which I’d like to add is actually very powerful on the mind. After accomplishing something so big like that I feel like I can conquer anything else! I’ve gotten rid of some negative energy in my life, and with the love and support from the right people I’m improving more and more each day in finding myself and becoming the strong woman I know I am. Just remember, time heals all wounds ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ll chat again soon, xoxo

Love Stacey.

During mid February, I had found out that the JUNO awards this year were being held in Calgary. As ecstatic as I was to even think about being in the same room as my favorite Celebrities, (The Weeknd, Alessia Cara, Shawn Mendes, etc) I quickly filled out an online application to be a volunteer. Keeping in mind, I did not earn my title as Miss Teenage Calgary 2016 yet.

Fast track to March 28th and now having my title, I got an email back from the lovely Audience Producer, Freda Lynds. She informed me that I was going to be part of the seat filler crew! I immediately knew I could use this as an advantage to promote my reign as Miss Teenage Calgary 2016. I emailed her back speaking about my platform and sure enough it was a go for me to wear my sash and crown!

April 3rd, the big day finally approached me. I went with my best friend Sanjali. We had lined up behind all of the other seat fillers and one at a time we entered the door. I faintly heard a lady call out “Miss Teenage Calgary”. I turned around and there I was greeted by Freda Lynds. She told me that she had saved a special seat for Sanjali and I. Of course after hearing this, we continued to freak out because of how excited we were. Moments later, a large group of us walked down to where all the seat fillers were going to be seated.

A young lady who was working there came up to us and pulled out 2 tickets. Freda had generously provided us seats right next to the floor. I immediately scurried to Freda and gave her a huge hug and thanked her for this opportunity. I was blown away and speechless. Thank you again Freda, I’m forever thankful!!

We then walked down to our seats, we realized right next to us is where all the celebrities were being seated. We met Alessia Cara and she was so genuine and happy it was great meeting someone my age who is still so humble even with all the fame she has.

At this point I wanted to scream so loud, I was completely overjoyed. The show was amazing, it was a great pleasure meeting everyone that i did, and I’ll never forget that surreal day!
